About

I'm passionate about the intersection of artificial intelligence and helping society leverage open source tools and resources.

Introduction

Passionate about the intersection of artificial intelligence, society, military history, and privacy. Currently working at a research lab where my focus centers on post-training and getting the most out of small, open-source models at the edge.

Day-to-day I design and build end-to-end post-training pipelines, combining supervised fine-tuning with reinforcement learning techniques like GRPO, to push open-source models toward closed-source-level performance on specialized tasks. I also architect the distributed training and inference infrastructure that makes that work possible, from serverless GPU clusters to on-premise multi-node clusters, and drive hardware strategy and evaluation to keep pace with rapidly evolving edge hardware.

My broader goal is to democratize access to capable AI, proving that small, well-trained models running on edge hardware can match or exceed much larger systems when built with the right data, training methodology, and evaluation rigor.

Experience

6+ years in AI/ML

Experience with building machine learning and software systems for production deployment, with a focus on data engineering, reinforcement learning and transformer based models.

Military Experience
